This is one band that will certainly get your party started. The 8 piece group showcases a distinct sound and style made famous by artist such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, and Booker T. & the MGs. Memphis Soul Live features a solid rhythm section, fiery horns and dynamic male and female vocalists. Their style displays the rich musical legacy of the 1960s and 70s along with the current popularity of Classic Soul and R&B music. Memphis Soul also performs popular standards from Sinatra to Motown to round out its musical variety. We have performed at places such as The Glass Cactus, Martini Park, Sullivans Ringside, Isaac Hayes Restuarant (Memphis, TN), Taste of Dallas, The Territory Resort in OK., The Anatole Hotel, Ashton Depot-Ft Worth, Petroleum Club, Colonial C.C., Mira Vista Golf Club, Four Seasons resort, Macy's Northpark International Concepts, YO Ranch in Kerville, Detroit-MAAH, and various other venues.
One supporter of this sparkling outfit is Deanie Parker, former President of the STAX Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee. She recently said in an interview, “...when someone gives you a gift such as the music of Memphis and STAX, you ought to say Thank You.” These fine musicians in Memphis Soul Live are certainly doing their part of showing gratitude.
Some of the players include Tim Jones, Scott Sheldon, Brad Mezei, Frederick Nichelson, Robert Lacroix, Rodney Engelbosch, Kennan Wylie, and vocalist Steffani Turner. All are veterans of the blues and jazz scene in Texas and the southwest. Nichelson even grew up in the shadows of several STAX Records artists and their contemporaries in Memphis.
In addition to the dynamic live show, the band has pledged to actively promote music in education. Memphis Soul Live actively schedules performances at schools and other charity events. These often include not only music, but also business training and life skills. This shall indeed carry the torch of Memphis soul music to new heights. This great legacy of American music will be “given thanks” like none before it.

Here is a special note to prospective Wedding clients:
Memphis Soul Live has been performing parties, wedding receptions and other celebrations since 1999. It has been our goal to make each event enjoyed by ALL attendees. The band performs a variety of music from jazz standards, to Motown, to classic pop and rock. We simply make your special day a memorable occasion. We begin by meeting with the venue and coordinator to arrange logistics. We then tailor our setlist to fit YOUR event. We encourage you to view our setlist and select the songs you would
like to hear and ones you DO NOT want to hear. We will also learn 2-3 songs at your request for your event. We need 30 days notice to work up new material especially for you!
Our standard performace time is for 3 hours of music in a 4 hour period. This usually means 45 minute sets with 15-20 minute breaks.
